Girl Scout Leader Appreciation Day: Monday, April 22

April is National Volunteer Month and we thank all our Girl Scout leaders who create a supportive environment that encourages successful futures for all girls! Join us in celebrating all our wonderful adult volunteers during National Volunteer Month and as we give a special shout out to Girl Scout Leaders on Leader Appreciation Day. Learn more about our P2P council shop promotions.

Although volunteers are always appreciated, it is during these special days that we take the time to acknowledge that our adult volunteers are our neighborhood heroes and the lifeblood of the Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont organization. We encourage the girls, their families and service unit/Girl Scout communities to plan special gestures to show appreciation for the adult Girl Scout volunteers in their lives.

President’s Volunteer Service Award

The President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national recognition, is available for Girl Scouts to earn. Girls and adults may earn the award by doing varying levels of service hours. Each troop or each service unit may be a “certifying agency” and handle the process themselves. GSCP2P does not oversee or manage the award process.

Girl Scout Lifetime Membership

Our lifetime members are a cherished part of our family. By making a commitment to Girl Scouts, you will be supporting the Lifetime Membership Endowment Fund, which is used to develop and extend Girl Scout membership to all girls. Lifetime membership as a Girl Scout adult is available to any individual who accepts the principles and beliefs of the Girl Scout Movement, pays the one-time lifetime membership cost, and is 18 years of age or older or is a high school graduate or the equivalent.

Lifetime membership dues are $375 (25 times the annual dues). A special lifetime membership, at the reduced cost of $195 (13 times the annual dues), is offered to girls who are registered Girl Scouts 14–17 at the time of their high school graduation, provided they apply for lifetime membership before their current annual membership expires.

You will receive from GSUSA:

  • A lifetime membership certificate signed by the Chair of the National Board of Directors
  • A lifetime membership card
  • Information on how you can purchase a lifetime membership pin
  • A lifelong connection with a mission-focused, values-driven organization that helps girls develop as happy and resourceful citizens

To become a lifetime member, print  an adult membership registration form and in the green strip above your name, indicate “Lifetime Member.” In the gray block to the right of your personal information, indicate if you are already an adult or are a graduating Ambassador. Complete the application and bring it with your payment to the service center most convenient to you. If you prefer, mail your application and payment to the following address:
