You are invited to provide input on Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont CEO search!
As you have heard, Marcia Cole is retiring this year- and we have big shoes to fill! The Search Committee would like to hear from YOU about what kind of leader P2P needs in our next CEO. The Search Committee is working with a search firm, Coleman Lew, to coordinate the search process. Representatives from Coleman Lew will be visiting locations throughout our council so they can hear directly from YOU- our volunteers, members, donors and the community- about the needs for the council and the qualifications desired for the new CEO.
Meetings will be held from 6-7:15 p.m. on the following dates:
- Tuesday, May 27: Asheville Service Center
- Monday, June 2: Greensboro, First Lutheran Church, 3600 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC, Room A-7
- Monday, June 2: Winston-Salem, Parkway Presbyterian Church, *1000 Yorkshire Road, Winston Salem, NC, Fellowship Hall
- Monday, June 9: Hickory Service Center
- Monday, June 9: Gastonia, Camp Rotary, 130 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia, NC
*Parkway Presbyterian – located at Silas Creek and Kirlees Road. Take Business 40 to Silas Creek Parkway North. Look for “Kirlees Road Next Left.” Take this left, enter parking lot on right just after this left. Fellowship Hall is the main building at this parking lot.
Your input is an important part of this process, and we hope you are able to attend the meeting nearest to you. A representative from our team at Coleman Lew will be present at each meeting and search committee members, as well as board members, are invited to attend as well.
Girl Scouts of the USA, in partnership with WAGGGS and Dove, recently launched Free Being Me, a global leadership initiative. Combined with It’s Your Story—Tell It! Journey materials, the Free Being Me curriculum helps girls define beauty for themselves and boost their self-confidence in the process. Girls are invited to create PSA videos that show what they think beauty is and that celebrate the qualities that make them unique!

During the month of May, P2P will be supporting the local food banks by collecting donations of peanut butter and jelly. Please see the flyer for more details and help us spread the word, inviting all our members and volunteers to bring their donations to service unit events, meetings and directly to our service centers and shops. Collection boxes are located at our service centers. We thank you for your help with this project!
The next generation of cookie business is here!
The online tools in CoCo are a great resource for girls to reach existing and new cookie customers. For the iPad drawing for selling 15+ packages, the winner is Allie Maria Post from Troop 02333 in Northwest Forsyth Service Unit. During the cookie program, Allie Maria sold 17 packages to her customers through e-cards.
The winner of the second iPad drawing for reaching the 150+ sales level is Carly Major from Troop 10008 in Catawba County Service Unit. She used the CoCo mobile app to sell 138 packages to customers. By using the app, Carly reached a combine online and direct sales total of 353 packages.
