A she and me event, girls bring an adult female role model (mom, grandma, aunt, friend, etc.) to learn how to recognize safe strangers and not-so safe strangers. Spend time practicing hands-on moves to protect yourself in dangerous situations. Program is instructed by Denise Wilbanks, a mom, teacher and crisis counselor. She has taught self-defense for more than 10 years, kickboxing for 20 years and has published a book on self-defense. She is driven to teach women how to defend themselves and empower them to stay safe.

Discover common sense techniques and develop situational awareness. This is NOT a martial arts class. We will train you physically, mentally and emotionally to stay safe. Girl Scouts is in-tents, and we’ve got badges to prove it! Spend the day with us at KPC earning your new GSUSA Outdoor Badge! Girl Scout Brownies will go on an outdoor adventure while Girl Scout Cadettes will spend the day testing their archery skills and Girl Scout Seniors will explore the world of boats! Event will meet all requirements towards earning Girl Scout level appropriate Outdoor Badge.

Have fun outdoors with coaches from across the area as we spring into sports. This event is for girls in elementary school. The price includes lunch and snacks. Bring a non-Girl Scout friend and receive a special gift! Rainy Day with Daisy at the Harper House/Hickory History Center @ Harper House/Hickory History Center

No TV, no radio, no iPhones – so what did a Victorian girl do on a rainy day? Join us as we explore some of the activities, crafts and games enjoyed by children in Victorian times. We will learn a little about Victorian manners and how children were expected to behave as we take a trip back in time through Harper House. Light refreshments will be served.
