Girl Scouts Explore Biltmore @ Biltmore Estate

What is over 119 years old and has 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces? Let me give you another clue. This place also has a bowling alley and swimming pool inside of it. Still wondering? All Girl Scouts are invited to explore The Biltmore Estate. Special activities at the farm will be offered, in addition to self-guided tours of the largest home in America. Close your eyes and imagine yourself living in the luxurious family home or spending your afternoon in the beautiful gardens. GRADE LEVEL: All Girl Scouts (grades K-12) and troop leaders, parents

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: June 4, 2015

GIRL FEE: $15 per girl (NC tax applied to ticket prices)

ADULT FEE: $38 per adult (NC tax applied to ticket prices)

BRING: bag lunch or purchase at restaurant on the estate, tennis shoes or closed toe shoes and appropriate clothes for the weather

Come check out camp and meet the 2015 summer staff! Program areas will be open for you and your family to try out and enjoy! Take this opportunity to tour camp and get all your questions answered. Touring camp is free, but to help raise money for the camp scholarship fund, we provide some of our most popular activities and sell food for a small cost. All profits help send girls to camp!

Go Climb – Rock Climbing @ Pilot Mountain State Park

Discover rock climbing! Join Thrifty Adventures for a half-day introduction to the awesome sport of rock climbing. No experience necessary. During this course you will learn basic knots, climbing techniques, safety practices and checks, as well as climbing terms and lingo.

Please Note: The approach to the climbing area is less then a 1/2 mile on a gravel trail with little change in elevation. There is a short staircase down to the climbing area that is steep. Thrifty Adventures will have guides spotting everyone as they descend the stairs; if needed the guides can carry your bag down the stairs for added safety!

Participants must provide their own transportation to site and must provide their own food and plenty of water. Climbing gear provided by Thrifty Adventures. If the morning session fills, an afternoon session is available. If we happen to fill both sessions, Thrifty Adventures will open the following Sunday. Please note: Bring an appropriate back pack to carry gear, food and water. All climbers must be “hands-free” for hiking to and from climbing locations (string bags are not good for this type of activity).

Gold and Silver Award Chat Session @ Girl Scout Learning Center

Attend a chat session to learn more about earning the Gold Award or Silver Award. Girls attending the chat session will receive a copy of the appropriate GSCP2P information packet. Girls are REQUIRED to attend a live chat or view the video option prior to beginning either their Gold or Silver Award project. Leaders and/or parents are welcome to attend free of charge.
