Camp-a-palooza @ Camp Pisgah

Join us for the third annual council-wide camporee! This year we will be at Camp Pisgah! We will have Girl Scout events, adventure activities and community groups leading programs for all ages. Troops are welcome to come as a group, or girls are welcome to come with a registered adult of their choosing! Troops will be able to select to spend the night in cabins, pre-pitched tents, bring their own tents or come out just for the day on Saturday.

GRADE LEVEL: All Girl Scouts (grades K-12) and troop leaders, parents



  • Sleep in cabin – $35
  • Sleep in tent (bring your own) – $20
  • Saturday only – $15

Activities that will be available for $1 per ticket will include: climbing wall, archery, boating, cooperation course and some crafts. Each troop is responsible for providing their own first aid kit and trained first aider. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail two weeks prior to the event.

BRING: sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight, change of clothes, pajamas, toiletries, day pack, water bottle, rain gear, tennis shoes and suitable clothes for the weather

Virtual Gold Award Girl Chat Session
Oct 4 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm


Ready for the Gold? Got a project idea? Get immediate feedback and develop your proposal. Be sure to view the GSCP2P Gold Award videos prior to attending the chat session. Either this virtual chat or the in-person chat meets the girl training requirements for the Gold award.

Prior to the virtual chat, complete the steps below:

  • STEP 1: Watch the three Gold Award videos – link provided above.
  • STEP 2: Have an adult in your troop taken the Gold Adult Learning Opportunity? Before you proceed, a registered Girl Scout adult must complete this course, in-person or online.
  • STEP 3: Create your Go Gold Online app account and start on steps 1-3.

(If you don’t have online access, contact a highest awards program manager).

  • STEP 4: Participate in a Girl Chat session. You can do this in-person or virtually.

GRADE LEVEL: Girl Scout Seniors, Ambassadors (grades 9-12)


FEE: $3

BRING: You will need internet access, a computer/device that has a camera, microphone and speakers/headphones. To verify your technology will work with the web conferencing system, log in 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to the meeting to make any adjustments. Have access to a copy of the Girl Scout Gold Award Guidelines and the GSCP2P Gold Award Handbook.

Girl Scout Day at Carowinds @ Carowinds

Service Unit 146 Traveling Circus @ Hopewell United Methodist Church

Due to low registration, this event has been cancelled except for Fire Building and Outdoor Cooking.


Fire Building: Camp stoves and 3-match fires, safety and simple tools. You’ll be prepared for guiding girls in building fires. Pre-requisites: Be Safe, Be Ready: Outings and Overnights AND Be Safe, Be Ready: Girl Planning. Add Outdoor Cooking to complete the Cook Out License. Bring a pocketknife.

Outdoor Cooking: Cooking a simple meal on fire and camp stove, sanitation and food storage. You’ll be prepared to guide girls to cook outdoors. Pre-requisites: Fire Building and the two Be Safe, Be Ready online courses. Completes the Cook Out license, allowing girls to build and cook over fires. Bring: plastic or metal dishes/silverware in a mesh bag (onion bag is great!)



Tenting @ Camp Ginger Cascades
Oct 10 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm


Required of an adult before taking a troop camping, where girls sleep in tents. Covers tents, tarps, knots and partnering with girls to plan advanced outdoor experiences.

Pre-requisites: Be Safe, Be Ready: Outings and Overnights and Be Safe, Be Ready: Girl Planning, Fire Building, and Outdoor Cooking OR also register to take Fire Building and Outdoor Cooking on 10/10/15.

Camp License Update @ Camp Ginger Cascades

Cook Out and Camp Licenses must be renewed every 5 years. This is a renewal course only. Take this Update course if you earned your Camp License during the 2010-2011 membership year. If you earned your Camp License prior to October 2010, register for Fire Building, Outdoor Cooking, and Tenting or take the Camp License Test-Out.

Pre-requisites: (1) Previous Camp License (Fire Building, Outdoor Cooking and the Overnight Camp Experience) taken on or after October 2010 AND (2) Be Safe, Be Ready: Outings and Overnights and Be Safe, Be Ready: Girl Planning after 4/15/2014.
