Come out to camp and help us get ready for the 2015 camp season! There is always work to be done and we can use your help! Projects may include cleaning, painting, moving, repairing, landscaping, building, etc. All help is appreciated! Please let us know ahead of time if you have any special skills so we can try to match projects to those skills. Lunch is provided! Pre-registration for this is not required but is very helpful for planning purposes.

Have you been thinking about coming to summer camp, but a week seems a little long? Well, come out for this overnight and have a sneak peak into what summer camp is like! Try out boating, fun crafts and the climbing wall before being ready to cook your dinner over the campfire and sing campfire songs with some experienced Keyauwee campers.

Understanding Journeys $0: Get Solid with Journeys! Discover the power they give to you and the girls. Find out how to adapt and incorporate ideas to create a leadership experience by blending Journeys and Girls’ Guide activities.

CPR and First Aid $10: This course includes BOTH CPR and First Aid. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required of a troop adult before participating in certain activities. This course will be presented by an outside provider.

Community Businesses $0: There are a multitude of community businesses who love to partner with Girl Scouts! Sometimes it is hard to find those businesses without some help. This course brings those partners to you! You will hear from locations near you who offer tours, programs or activities for girls.

Techbridge Complete Introduction $8: Interested in learning more about facilitating Techbridge for girls in a troop or an event setting? Now’s your chance. Take part in the “Techbridge Complete Introduction” class to learn about all five of the Techbridge boxes and how to facilitate girls through hands-on activities and career opportunities. During this class, you will be able to take home some hands-on activities from a few of the boxes as well as tips on how to set up career exploration activities that include field trips to companies and classroom visits by role models. Course fee covers materials used for YOUR scientific explorations as well as goodies to take home. If you are interested in a training on a specific box in your area, please contact Valerie Wooten. (Bring pencil and paper)

Camp License Update $5: Cook Out and Camp Licenses must be renewed every 5 years. Take this update course if you earned your Camp License in the 2009-10 membership year. If you earned your Camp License prior to 2009, you must re-take Fire Building, Outdoor Cooking, and Tenting or take the Camp License Test-Out. If you have never taken the Camp License courses, this is not the course for you; this is a renewal course only. (Bring: Pocketknife, Pre-requisites: Previous Camp License (Fire Building, Outdoor Cooking, and the Overnight Camp Experience) in 2009-2010 membership year or more recently, AND Be Safe, Be Ready: Outings and Overnights and Be Safe, Be Ready: Girl Planning after 4/15/2014.)

SWAPS $2: Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere. A Girl Scout tradition! Who doesn’t need some new ideas for SWAPS? Come away inspired with more ideas for this wonderful tradition.

Tie-Dye $3: Need to know the basics about tie-dye? Learn what it takes! You will be able to do this on your own and your girls will love the technique. Bring something with you to tie dye like a T-shirt of pillowcase. Also wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. (Bring: Bring something with you to tie dye like a T-shirt or pillowcase. Songs and Games $0: Learn new Girl Scout songs and games to take back to your girls! Need a rainy day activity? Why not try a new song or game? In this class, you will learn fun and easy time passers!
