Techbridge: Crazy Carnival @ Girl Scout Learning Center, Colfax

Welcome to a crazy carnival of your own creation. Explore simple machines as you build a merry-go-round, a bean-bag toss and a race car. Levers, pulleys, screws and gears abound as you engineer the ultimate playground. *Girls must attend both sessions to complete this Techbridge Box.

Camp Golden Valley Farewell Event @ Camp Golden Valley
Nov 23 @ 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

Come say goodbye to Camp Golden Valley with a traditional Golden Valley Camporee. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and end with a campfire in the evening. A traditional campfire stew will be served. There will be boating, roller skating, crafts, Scout’s Own, hiking, reminiscing, a silent auction, archery and camping. For more information, contact Anne Watkins at 336-369-7422.

If you plan to spend the night, please contact e-mail Christina Brunner or call her at 337-274-8491 to give her names and number of people. Space assignments for camping will be made by the planning committee after November 13.

Mammal Safari Camp-In @ The Schiele Museum of Natural History, Gastonia

Learn about mammals from all over the world including Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Spend the night at the Schiele Museum, explore the exciting mammal exhibit and meet live animals. Find out about animal habitats, explore the connection between humans and animals and learn about issues affecting animals. Program will include activities from the Girl Scout Junior Animal Habitats badge, Girl Scout Cadette Animal Helpers badge and Girl Scout Senior Voice for Animals badge. Geocacher & Hiker @ The North Carolina Arboretum, Asheville
Dec 7 @ 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Girl Scout Juniors will enjoy a high-tech scavenger hunt through The North Carolina Arboretum while earning the Geocacher badge. Plan a trip, learn about caches, trade items and explore the trails. This program is designed for Juniors, but if Brownies are in attendance they will have the option of earning the Hiker badge. Girls are welcome to attend without adults in attendance. Arboretum educators serve as adults required for safety ratios. Girl Scouts are encouraged with groups/troops that register together to meet safety ratios.
