Cookies 101 @ Girl Scout Learning Center

Learn the terminology of cookies, basics of SNAP, responsibilities of the Troop Cookie Manager, girl recognitions and troop proceeds. Troop Cookie Managers should also attend Service Unit Cookie Training (this course is not designed to replace Service Unit Cookie Training).

Recycled Art @ Hickory Museum of Art, Hickory

Artist Larry Heath manipulates tin by cutting and bending to make 3-D sculptures. After viewing his exhibit, we will use aluminum soda cans to create 3-D angels that can be used as ornaments. We will also choose from a large variety of recycled items to make an animal or person sculpture. PLEASE NOTE: Must be sixth grade or older due to safety precautions. Explore Your Financial Aid Options @ Girl Scout Learning Center, Colfax
Dec 10 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Learn about different types of financial aid. Know the important terminology so you can understand the pros and cons of each. Learn the seven factors that FAFSA uses. Learn how schools use your financial aid eligibility and what percent of that they may give. Compare the three colleges you selected to analyze their award history. Families of attendees are eligible for a complimentary financial aid analysis. This workshop meets Step 4 badge requirements for Financing My Future.

Assignment: Select three colleges that interest you and e-mail to pat@collegefundinginnovations.com by the registration deadline.

Girl Scout Cookie Lock-In @ Waynesville Recreation Center
Jan 3 @ 7:00 pm – Jan 4 @ 6:30 pm

The 2014 Girl Scout Cookie Lock-In will be an exciting night where girls will work on cookie badges, make media and cookie sale materials and meet new friends.  Troops will have pool time, free time and fun activities.  Late night, there will be a choice of movies and snacks.  Waynesville Recreation Center has a pool with a slide,  a bouldering wall and ping pong tables.  So join us games, snacks, badge work, new friends, SWAPS, movies, media blitz and cookie mayhem!

GRADE LEVEL: All Girl Scouts (Daisies through Ambassadors)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: December 1, 2013
