Art And The Animal @ Hickory Museum of Art

Go on a scavenger hunt through the galleries in search of animals and then create animals of your own. We’ll make an animal mask, an origami cat and a colorful bird. To register, e-mail Ginny Zellmer at gzellmer@hickorymuseumofart.org or call 828-327-8576. Payment due at time of registration.

World Thinking Day: Universal Access To Primary Education @ Girl Scout Learning Center

Join us for a fun morning where we discover other countries, explore their culture and countries while taking action by participating on one of the United Nation’s (UN) Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) about Girl Scout and Girl Guides around the world. A snack will be provided.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs! @ The North Carolina Arboretum, Asheville
Mar 8 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Bugs help us in lots of cool ways. Explore the world of bugs with the staff at the NC Arboretum to learn what these little creatures do. Take a bug hike to see how many kinds of bugs you can find along the way. Find out about good bugs and bad bugs. Girls are welcome to attend without adults in attendance. Arboretum educators serve as adults required for safety ratios. Girl Scouts are encouraged with groups/troops that register together to meet safety ratios. Catawba Science Center Girl Scout Camp In @ Catawba Science Center

Spend the night checking out the night sky in the Millholland Planetarium and watch a planetarium show. Have an “eye opening experience” dissecting a cow’s eye and observing optical illusions. Spend time with Girl Scout Cadettes making a craft to take home as well. To register, e-mail Lori Kistler at camps@catawbascience.org or call 828-322-8169 ext. 316. Fee includes all activities, Friday evening snack, Saturday breakfast and a patch. Participants must follow the adult-to-girl ratios outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints.
