Catawba Science Center Girl Scout Camp In @ Catawba Science Center

Spend the night checking out the night sky in the Millholland Planetarium and watch a planetarium show. Have an “eye opening experience” dissecting a cow’s eye and observing optical illusions. Spend time with Girl Scout Cadettes making a craft to take home as well. To register, e-mail Lori Kistler at camps@catawbascience.org or call 828-322-8169 ext. 316. Fee includes all activities, Friday evening snack, Saturday breakfast and a patch. Participants must follow the adult-to-girl ratios outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints.

The Overnight Camp Experience @ Common Ground

Learn how to partner with girls to plan outdoor overnight experiences. PLEASE NOTE: Cots are available at Camp Pisgah and Keyauwee Program Center (including Leaderee and Trainfest). Other locations sleep in tents on the ground. Please choose location according to your comfort level and physical ability.

Camping License Update @ Keyauwee Program Center

Camp Licenses are good for five years, at which time an Update Class is required. If you took outdoor skills courses in 2008, you must attend an update course in 2013. Trained in 2009, take an update course in 2014. (Trainfest and Leaderfest also offer this course.)

Techbridge: Crazy Carnival @ Asheville Service Center, Asheville

Welcome to a crazy carnival of your own creation. Explore simple machines as you build a merry-go-round, a bean-bag toss and a race car. Levers, pulleys, screws and gears abound as you engineer the ultimate playground. *Girls must attend both sessions to complete this Techbridge Box.
