Girl Scouts Love State Parks- Mount Mitchell State Park
GSUSA and America’s State Parks have initiated a nation-wide, annual event to get Girl Scouts involved with our State Parks. Girl Scouts P2P and NC State Parks have teamed up to support girls, troops, and families in getting outside and exploring parks!
Program includes three sessions. They will be led by a Park Ranger or park staff focus on exploring the outdoors! Explore animal tracking, learn about wilderness survival and join in on a salamander search on a trail run (hike). The “Outdoor Skills” fun patch (hiking @ Mount Mitchell) is part of our theme for the day. Participants will be able to order the patch and/or charm and t-shirt at time of registration so they can pick it up that day. They will also receive the official “Girl Scouts Loves State Parks” event patch that day. After the program families are welcome to bring your own picnic, use the park grills or visit the restaurant located on-site. See park website for more details.
