The (Riding-Instructor-in-Training) RIIT program is a leadership and horsemanship development opportunity for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors. This is one of two Volunteer Orientations offered during the year. There will be two learning tracks throughout the day- one for new RIITs and one for returning RIITs. New RIITs will learn how to care for the Circle C horses, how to prepare for horse programs and how to assist during those programs. Returning RIITs will be working on more advanced skills. This is not a riding program and all training will be with horses and unmounted. Training materials will be provided. Girls will need to bring a lunch, dress comfortably for the weather and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. Throughout the year, RIITs log their volunteer hours and will have an opportunity to exchange those hours for a RIIT riding lesson. RIITs who have volunteered at least four days are invited to apply to be a part of our Summer RIIT program. Additionally, RIITs will be invited to participate in Circle C Equestrian Center Horse Shows and other special events.
