Location: Camp Ginger Cascades (Lenoir, NC)
Start your Think Like a Citizen Scientist journey by learning about and practicing the skills that citizen scientists use while contributing to scientific research. Girls will start by exercising their observation skills and learning about the scientific method hands-on. Then, the group will put those skills to the test by completing a citizen science project called the EarthEcho Water Challenge that measures local water quality. By the end of the day, girls will have completed all steps in the Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey other than their Take Action project. Great for girls who love science and nature or are looking to complete a journey!
Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday, as well as breakfast on Sunday. Girls should bring bedding and overnight supplies. We will spend much of the weekend outside, so please come prepared and dressed for the weather!
