Volunteers are crucial to Circle C Equestrian Center. Our RIIT program welcomes girls 13+ and adults, with or without horse experience. Participants teach horse care and riding, and in return, they ride, gain knowledge and make friends. For more information, go to bit.ly/4sg03bJ.
Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors in the Girl Scouts have the opportunity to earn a Community Service Bar by actively contributing to their community and embodying the principles of the Girl Scout Promise and Law. This achievement offers a wonderful chance for girls to engage with and support causes they are passionate about. Find more information by clicking here.

The Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards recognize girls who make a significant impact in their communities and beyond.

As Girl Scouts realize the strength of their voices, they'll be inspired to tackle issues that matter to them. Encourage them to pursue these prestigious awards to bring their ideas to life. Find more information at bit.ly/4bZIPdI.

Girls of all grades can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin, which enhances religious recognitions and strengthens their connection between faith and Girl Scouts. Each year, they can earn this pin by linking the Girl Scout Law to their faith's tenets. For more information, go to bit.ly/4aBrWDw.
Teen mentoring provides older girls with the opportunity to guide younger girls, explore leadership roles, and hone their skills. Participants can earn several mentoring awards, such as the Leadership in Action (LiA) award, the Program Aide (PA) award, the Counselor-in-Training (CIT I and CIT II) awards, and the Volunteer-in-Training (VIT) award. Every Girl Scout level has its own set of requirements designed to teach girls how to stay safe at home, school and within their community.

The National GSUSA Lifesaving Awards, established in 1913, honor Girl Scouts for exceptional bravery in lifesaving situations. These awards are reserved for those who initiate or lead lifesaving actions.

Awards include:

  • BRONZE CROSS: For saving or attempting to save a life with personal risk.
  • MEDAL OF HONOR: For saving or attempting to save a life without personal risk.

While Girl Scouts frequently contribute to safety, only actions essential to a rescue qualify for national recognition. Assessing the criticality of a Girl Scout’s actions can be challenging due to the unique circumstances of each rescue.

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action too.

Be sure to upload your President's Volunteer Service Award Worksheet, here.

Please be advised that The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program is currently on a temporary pause, effective May 27, 2025, as announced by AmeriCorps, the federal agency that oversees the program.

During this pause:
No new orders for awards (pins, certificates, medallions, etc.) are being accepted.
Applications to become a Certifying Organization are not being processed.

We understand the importance of recognizing volunteer service, and we will continue to monitor updates from AmeriCorps regarding the future of the PVSA program. We will share additional information as it becomes available.

The Torch Awards honor girls who demonstrate leadership in their communities. To earn these awards, participants must complete a Leadership Journey and hold a leadership role for a full term. This role can be within a school, religious institution, after-school club, community center or similar organization. The Silver Torch is designated for Cadettes, while both the Gold and Silver Torch Awards are for Seniors, and the Gold Torch is for Ambassadors!
