No troop? No problem! Join as an Individually Registered Girl (IRG) member—also called a Juliette—and experience all the fun of Girl Scouts with even more freedom to explore your interests, on your schedule.

Joining as an individual member is great for Girl Scouts without a troop available nearby or who want to enjoy Girl Scout programming with their family.

Step-by-step instructions for joining without a troop toggle arrow

Go to https://mygs.girlscouts.org/
Select Find Troops.
If you are looking to join without participating with a troop, scroll to the bottom of the troop listing and click on "I want to participate without a troop".
At the log in prompt, either create a new account or log in to an existing one.
Once you are logged in, you will be able to continue filling out your member details and payment information.
You will pay $45 in membership dues. If you require financial assistance, please fill out the financial assistance application in addition to completing registration.
Note: Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

VTK Guide: The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK), the official GSUSA online source for content and related resources and troop financial management support is a digital planning tool that helps you set up, customize and track your activities and achievements.
gsLearn: A resource for you to access courses that meet you where you are in your learning experience. This user-friendly platform allows you to take courses on your own time, be engaged in your learning progress and verify completion of required courses. GsLearn can be accessed through your Girl Scout account.

Earn Badges & Awards toggle arrow

Badges

Badges signify that a Girl Scout completed all the steps needed to earn this recognition for the new skills they learned. Each badge takes a Girl Scout through the steps of learning about the skill, practicing, and demonstrating it. Badge topics range from the outdoors to STEM, or art, and even career exploration. They’re a great way to try something new and see if you enjoy it.

Once a badge is earned, it is sewn or ironed onto a sash or vest. A Girl Scout can earn new badges as they progress through each level, with activities becoming more challenging as they move up.

Awards

Take action to make the world a better place while earning Girl Scouts Highest Awards like the Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.

You can also explore your beliefs by earning faith-based awards. Everything in Girl Scouting is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law, which includes many of the principles and values common across religions. So while we are a secular organization, Girl Scouts has always encouraged girls to take spiritual journeys via their faiths' religious recognitions.

Love being outdoors? We have three camp properties that host day and weekend programs, summer camp and family camp experiences. Register for an event on our calendar and explore a variety of activities such as canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, archery, equestrian programs, crafts, nature and science, hiking, high adventure programs and much more. There is something for everyone! Camp as often as you want and meet other Girl Scouts who share your enthusiasm for the great outdoors.

Expand your horizons by exploring local state parks or by becoming a Girl Scout Ranger in a National Park. You can even explore the United States and beyond through GSUSA travel programs.

Be a boss and start your own business by participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Juliettes can also participate in our Fall Product Program to earn funds to put toward fun Girl Scout activities. Through these product programs you’ll learn important entrepreneurial skills, but also help ensure Girl Scouting is possible for other members just like you.

Love being outdoors? Follow your passion and sign up for weekend camping trips as a Juliette. Camp as often as you want and meet other Girl Scouts who share your enthusiasm for the great outdoors.

Expand your horizons by spending a week at camp in the summer or exploring local state parks. As a Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador (grades 6–12), you can even explore the United States—or the world!—by traveling to other Girl Scout camps.

Be a boss and start your own business by participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Juliettes can sell cookies in a structure supported by our council.

Not only will you earn funds to put toward fun Girl Scout activities, but you’ll also help ensure Girl Scouting is possible for other members just like you.
