Women are making history every day and now we are giving girls the chance to meet them. This is the last of three events in a virtual series highlighting a few of the women who have had a crucial impact on the STEM fields.

Meet Dr. Ruth Jones, first woman to earn a B.S. from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and only the second African-American woman to receive a doctorate in physics in the state of Alabama.

Dr. Ruth Jones, a native of West Helena, Arkansas, and an alumna of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Alabama A & M University, recently won a prestigious award for federal employees for work performed at two different NASA centers. The Cleveland Federal Executive Board honored Jones with the Wings of Excellence award at a May 10 ceremony. She is the first woman to earn a BS from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and only the second African-American woman to receive a doctorate in physics in the state of Alabama. Join us as we listen to her story and participate in a live Q&A session following her talk.

Registration Deadline: November 18, 2024
