Women are making history every day and now we are giving girls the chance to meet them. This is the second of three events in a virtual series highlighting a few of the women who have had a crucial impact on the STEM fields.
Meet Laurie A. Grindle, Deputy Center Director at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center.
Laurie A. Grindle is deputy center director at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, as of March 2023. One of her past projects was the X-43A project. She joined the project in 1997 during the buildup phase to the first flight in 2001. Laurie and her team learned much from their initial failures before the X-43A set the Guinness World Record for "the fastest air-breathing" aircraft in March 2004. It then broke its own record in November 2004 with its third and final flight. "It was incredible to be part of a team that had persevered beyond a devastating failure to go on and make history." Join us as we listen to Laurie's story and participate in a live Q&A session following her talk.
Registration Deadline: October 21, 2024
