Location: Keyauwee Program Center (Sophia, NC)

Join PBS NC, Nature Cat and Girl Scout friends from all over North Carolina in this special one-day celebration. Girl Scouts will spend the day exploring the outdoors and developing connections with the natural world through hands-on activities. Activities can include:

  • Help create a butterfly garden.
  • Learn about pollinators and build a bee hotel.
  • Learn about bat colonies in North Carolina and make a bat house.
  • Identify rocks and minerals in a geology lab.
  • Visit and explore the ecosystem at the barn.
  • Explore an aquatic ecosystem.

All participants will also have the opportunity to meet PBS's very own Nature Cat and enjoy a provided picnic lunch at camp.
