To enjoy a back-to-nature camping experience and/or to camp out at an established campsite with access to
running water, bath house facility, and designated fire ring. At least one member of your troop needs to complete
the Basic Camping Skills License. This course is valuable for volunteers who work with troops and want to help them
build independence by learning many useful outdoor skills. The license is valid for five years.
Come prepared for a fun day of outdoor learning! If you have a pocketknife, please bring it with you. Don't have one? No problem-we'll have extras available for participants to use. Please also bring a mess kit, which should include a plate, bowl, fork, spoon, and cup in a mesh bag. (A purchased mess kit is not required-a mesh produce bag or lingerie bag works perfectly!) Be sure to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day, and you're welcome to pack a light snack to enjoy during breaks.
