The Junior RIIT Explorer program is designed for Junior Girl Scouts
who are curious about becoming future Riding Instructors-in-Training
(RIITs) and want to begin building leadership skills through
horsemanship. In this hands-on session, participants will learn the
fundamentals of grooming and safely leading horses.
They will be
introduced to proper grooming tools and techniques, how to read basic
horse behavior and how to confidently and respectfully lead a horse on
the ground. This experience emphasizes responsibility, communication
and teamwork-key qualities of successful RIITs. Through guided
practice in a supportive group setting, they will gain confidence
while developing foundational skills that prepare them for future
leadership opportunities within the RIIT program.
