During the course, participants will learn:

Safety Skills: Recognize and prevent unsafe situations, respond appropriately to emergencies such as severe weather and power outages, and make safe decisions when home alone or caring for children.

Child Care Skills: Understand the ages and stages of child development, practice age-appropriate caregiving techniques, including diapering, and learn positive behavior management strategies that help keep both the babysitter and children safe.

First Aid & Rescue Skills: Gain valuable first aid knowledge, learn how to assess and respond to common injuries and illnesses, and practice lifesaving skills such as choking rescue and CPR (when included in the course).

Life & Business Skills: Build confidence in finding babysitting jobs, communicating with parents, discussing fees, greeting employers professionally, and handling responsibilities through fun role-playing activities.

By the end of the course, students will have the practical skills, confidence, and decision-making abilities needed to provide safe, responsible childcare while developing leadership and life skills that will benefit them well into the future.
