Outdoors

Girl Scouts are forces of nature. And they were meant for outdoor adventures. Explore our camp properties and beyond with these resources:

Outdoor Training Requirements toggle arrow

Before a troop can stay overnight at any Lodges at our camps, an adult with the troop must have an Overnight & Activity License.

  • In order to build a fire, roast marshmallows or cook a simple meal, pitch and sleep in tents OR to camp at a non-council facility, the Basic Camping Skills License is required. Earn it by first holding an Overnight & Activity License and then attending the in-person Basic Camping Skills License.

Learn more about required training for adults and find upcoming courses on our event calendar.

Troop Camping and Service Unit Camporees toggle arrow

To reserve a campsite for troop camping, please visit our page on CampLife! You can use the interactive map and filter by group size and amenities to browse available units at all three of our camps for your selected weekend. Please note that a 25% deposit will be due at the time of reservation. If you would like to request staff-facilitated activities as part of your camping weekend, please send those requests to info@girlscoutsp2p.org or call us at 800-672-2148. If you would like to book a Troop Horseback Riding program with Circle C, please email circlec@girlscoutsp2p.org for availability.

Approved activities will be added to your invoice in CampLife. All camping reservations and activity requests must be received at least four weeks prior to your selected weekend. The cancellation deadline for troop camping is four weeks out from your selected weekend. To cancel your reservation, please contact us at info@girlscoutsp2p.org or 800-672-2148. If you cancel your reservation within four weeks of your scheduled arrival date, the 25% deposit that is due at the time of reservation will not be returned with your refund.

Please note that the address shown for our “campground” on CampLife is the Hickory Service Center and not the address for the camp you have reserved. Please check out the Visit Us page for the addresses of each camp property. Review our CampLife Demo video for an overview on making reservation requests.

Programs At Camp toggle arrow

Join us at camp throughout the year- not just summer- to experience the outdoors! We offer day and overnight experiences for all levels of Girl Scouts including badge workshops, Journey-in-a-Day programs and self-guided troop activities.

For more information about setting up a day activity for your troop at camp, e-mail info@girlscoutsp2p.org.

Troop Horse Programs toggle arrow

Join us at our Circle C Equestrian Center! We have horse programs for all age levels with the option to introduce girls to horses, earn badges or develop their equestrian skills. We have sessions for troops that are interested in bringing multiple girls to the barn and sessions for individual girls who want to participate in a program, but don't have a troop to go with.

Find upcoming troop horse programs on our event calendar. You can also e-mail circlec@girlscoutsp2p.org for more information about bringing your troop out to ride.
